Emergency Broadband Benefit Program Enrollment Ended
The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program is transitioning to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
Enrollment in the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program ended on December 30, 2021 at 6 pm.
Effective December 31, 2021, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) replaces the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program.
If you are actively enrolled in the EBB Program, you will continue to receive your monthly benefit until March 1, 2022 before you are switched over to the Affordable Connectivity Program.
What is the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program?
The EBB Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly internet bills for qualifying low-income households. Eligible households can receive up to a $50/month discount towards their Palmerton Telephone DSL internet service (Accelerate 5.0 or Accelerate 10.0) and associated equipment rentals. Only one monthly service discount is allowed per household.
Enrollment in the EBB Program ended December 30, 2021 at 6pm.
Qualifying low-income households may now enroll in the Affordable Connectivity Program. Click here for more information on the ACP.
How the Transition to the ACP Affects EBB Customers
Actively enrolled EBB Program households will continue to receive the up to $50 monthly benefit until March 1, 2022. After March 1, 2022, the monthly benefit will change from up to $50/month under the EBB to up to $30/month for eligible households under the Affordable Connectivity Program.
Current households enrolled in the EBB Program may be required to re-verify eligibility to participate in the Affordable Connectivity Program. The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) will send reverification notices around mid-January. If you receive a notice, you will need to complete the reverification process by March 1, 2022 to retain your ACP benefit.
